Equinor
Discovered in 1981, the field came on stream in 1989 and has produced more than 400m barrels of oil equivalent
The project will be designed to capture carbon dioxide and store it permanently offshore
Agreements are about an offshore platform and transmission link for the third phase of the world’s largest offshore wind farm
The deal covers all of Equinor’s operated and non-operated acreage in the Bakken, located in the states of North Dakota and Montana, which will be sold to Grayson Mill Energy
Recoverable resources are estimated at between seven and 11 million standard cubic metres of oil equivalent
It comes as the two companies completed their previously announced deal, whereby Equinor sold a 50% interest in both the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind assets on the US east coast
The pilot plant will be trialled in the North Sea off the small island of Frøya in Western Norway
