The Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) and the Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) are to merge.
The new organisation will take the name of the former group and aims to create a unified voice for decentralised energy solutions across the industrial, commercial, public and domestic sectors.
Dr Tim Rotheray will continue in his role as Director of ADE, with ACE CEO Dr Joanne Wade taking the position of Deputy Director.
The merged organisation will represent nearly 150 members.
Dr Rotheray said feedback on the merger had been positive as the groups’ members generally think the decision aligns with strategic choices being made within the sector.
ACE CEO Dr Joanne Wade said: “I strongly believe that an organisation that represents the suite of products and services that can be brought to bear at an energy customer’s site to manage costs and cut emissions has the potential to be a powerful advocate.”
